The FBI has made it a priority to investigate the brutal assaults on police officers that occurred during the attack on Capitol Hill on January 6. The FBI has taken more than 500 people into custody for their participation in the Capitol riots thanks to the hundreds of thousands of tips received from the American public. More than 100 of those arrested were accused of assaulting police officers. However, the most violent offenders are still to be identified. This includes the 11 people who assaulted officers in the video footage that we released today.
“As we commemorate six months of violence at the Capitol, we encourage the public to submit tips to the FBI. We have seen that tips are important in dozens of cases,” Steven M. D’Antuono said, who is also the assistant director of the FBI’s Washington Field Office. The FBI will follow any leads that are provided to verify the tips and bring the criminals to justice. On January 6, the FBI had already arrested over 500 people for criminal activity. We are seeking additional assistance from the public to help us identify any other suspects in this case.
fbi.gov/capitolviolence has photos and videos that show additional people the FBI is looking to identify. You can call 1-800-CALL FBI to get information about the people in the video or the photo gallery. Or, submit a tip at tips.fbi.gov. When calling or submitting information online, please refer to the AFO number.
Thanks to the valuable assistance of the public, suspects from previously released videos were arrested. These suspects are Reed Christensen, Jonathan Munafo, Nicholas Brockhoff, Geoffrey Sills and Nicholas Brockhoff. You can find more information about those who were arrested and charged at the Department of Justice’s Capitol Breach Cases.
