Jim Lester is happy to announce the publication of his new mystery novel Deadline New York. The cheap paperback PI novel, which was about a dark conspiracy within the U.S. government, was great fun. What if this was true?
- (1888PressRelease) September 15, 2021 – Set in the summer of 1952, Deadline:New York centers on the emerging paperback book industry in New York City. A former Naval intelligence officer, the protagonist of this story is also a best-selling author of paperback adventure novels. His secretary asks him to investigate her boyfriend’s suicide. The investigation centers on a hearing by the state senator about obscenity within the paperback industry, as well as a conspiracy inside the United States government and law enforcement. The story, which combines real historical figures with fictional characters, reveals the early struggles of the paperback industry. It also presents an exciting confrontation between ordinary citizens (and a murderous shadow regime).
