TOKYO, Sept. 15, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Leading semiconductor test equipment supplier Advantest Corporation (TSE: 6857) and PDF Solutions Inc. (Nasdaq: PDFS), a leading provider of comprehensive data solutions for the semiconductor ecosystem, have launched their first jointly developed offering since forming a partnership in July 2020. A large integrated device manufacturer is using the new Advantest Cloud Solutions (ACS), Dynamic Parametric Test(DPT) powered with PDF Exensio(r). ACS is a single, highly secure and scalable data platform that allows customers to address the most pressing issues of Smart Manufacturing.
This new solution integrates PDF Solutions’ Exensio(r) portfolio of data analytics with Advantest’s V93000 Parametric Test System. The ACS DPT solution optimizes parametric testing on V 93000 platform with real-time performance, minimal human interaction and low overhead. ACS DPT allows for dynamic adjustment of test flows to increase coverage, improve the characterization and collect more data to support downstream analytics and root-cause identification.
A typical test flow today involves multiple wafers being evaluated with a static program. The gathered data are then stored. While a product engineer analyses the data, the wafers that have been tested are placed in inventory. If any anomalies are discovered, the wafers will need to be re-evaluated with a modified test program. Re-testing questionable wafers may be delayed if necessary parametric test cell are in use. This sequence of events can be lengthy and costly, resulting in a delay in market time and increased testing costs.
DPT streamlines this process by allowing users the ability to determine the condition of a wafer during initial testing. The data collected can be analysed almost immediately, which allows the test process to be refined in real-time. ACS allows for a more efficient approach that eliminates the need to retest and saves product engineers valuable time.
“By integrating PDF Solutions’ Exensio(r) advanced data analytics with our proven V93000 Parametric Test System, we are elevating our customers’ problem-solving capabilities,” said Keith Schaub, VP, Technology and Strategy at Advantest. “We believe ACS DPT will help customers achieve improved product quality, manufacturing yield and cost efficiencies.”
“One of our goals in partnering with Advantest was to broaden the accessibility of advanced analytics and enable highly beneficial systems and solutions through tighter integration with test,” said Kimon Michaels, EVP, Products and Solutions, and a co-founder of PDF Solutions. Exensio’s analytics power is intended to allow ACS DPT significantly reduce a customer’s time-to data and accelerate root cause analysis during testing operations. This will result in significant savings for both time and money .”
. The new ACS DPT product is the first ACS product to optimize IC testing. Customers around the world can now obtain licenses.
