On the occasion of the Nikola Iveco Europe joint-venture manufacturing facility opening in Ulm, Germany, the parties announced an accord to collaborate on the testing and subsequent implementation of heavy-duty electric vehicles and charging infrastructure at the Port of Hamburg during 2022.
(PRESS RELEASE) ULM, Germany, 16-Sep-2021 — /EuropaWire/ — IVECO, the commercial vehicles brand of CNH Industrial (NYSE: CNHI / MI: CNHI) and Nikola Corporation (NASDAQ: NKLA) have jointly announced they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hamburg Port Authority AoR (HPA), the agency responsible for administering services for the Port of Hamburg, during the inauguration of their joint-venture manufacturing facility in Ulm, Germany. As per the agreement the two companies jointly intent to partner in two phases encompassing up to 25 Nikola Tre battery-electric vehicles (BEV) for delivery to the Port throughout 2022.
The first phase involves the testing of the Nikola Tre BEVs in the port for transport, logistics and high-performance charging solutions. The second phase of the project partnership will see full integration of the BEVs in port operations, the installation of charging infrastructure, and on-site support for major suppliers. These vehicles will be the US version the Nikola Tre, with special permissions to operate in port.

The Nikola Tre is a long-haul, high-performance transport solution that produces zero emissions.
