Police have released the names of the seven victims killed by Thubelihle Khoshow in Redcliff after he went berserk and struck 10 people with an axe, spear and knife.
Six people were killed instantly, while four others sustained life-threatening injuries. Khoshow attacked people with a variety of weapons during an all-night church service.
The seventh victim died from injuries suffered.
The seven are Mitchelle Moyo (eight), Lucky Moyo (four), Laretto Sikwili (four), Xolani Sikwili (33), Lina Moyo (56), Meggie Nkiwane (85) and Mercy Savanhu (33).
Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, spokesperson for the National Police, said that they are still investigating this unfortunate murder attempt and rape incident.
Police have released the names and addresses of the victims in a fatal accident on the road that took place at 2. 40 pm, at the 22,5 km peg along Gweru-Zvishavane road.
One person was hurt.
The victims are Simbanai Mugonda (49), Netsai Mugonda (42), Princess Mugonda (three), all of Seke, Chitungwiza and Thalitha Muzezewa (53) of Mazowe Veterinary Services Camp in Mazowe.
A motorist was driving a Toyota Granvia car with four passengers. He lost control and the vehicle veered off the roadway. The vehicle flipped once before it landed on its feet.
Police stated that the bodies of the victims had been taken to Gweru Provincial Mortuary for post-mortem, while the injured was referred by Shurugwi Hospital. He was then discharged.
