Honk. Disneyland fans, this is exciting news. The “highway to the sky” is back! Beginning tomorrow – Friday, Oct. 15 – you will once again be able to ride the classic Disneyland Monorail, as it officially returns to its daily operation as a part of phased reopening of the Disneyland Resort.
The Disneyland Monorail has been a beloved attraction for decades, ever since it first debuted at Disneyland in 1959 – more than 60 years ago! It was the first monorail to operate daily in the Western Hemisphere at that time.
The Disneyland Monorail not only serves as a fun transportation experience, but also offers a unique way to see elevated sights around the resort, including areal views of Tomorrowland and Fantasyland in Disneyland park and Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure park.
For those who might not know, there are two locations to board the Disneyland Monorail; one station is located in the Downtown Disney District and the other station is in Tomorrowland. You can hop on the Disneyland Monorail if you are staying in one of the three Disneyland Resort hotels. This will allow you to skip the main entrance and take you directly to Disneyland Park. You will need your ticket and reservation to enter Disneyland park if you decide to board the Disneyland Monorail from Downtown Disney.
For additional details on the Disneyland Monorail, including hours of operation, be sure to check the Disneyland app or Disneyland.com. Don’t forget to cover your face if you plan on riding this attraction. It is enclosed. To read more about the latest information to know before you go, please visit Disneyland.com/updates.
Now, are you ready to board the train and go on a round trip journey with me? Disneyland Monorail, welcome back!
