According to RootMetrics, which tests the responsiveness of mobile networks around the world, 5G networks can dramatically improve the cloud gaming experience because the response time between a user request and an action is much faster than with previous generations of wireless networks, resulting in less lag during cloud-based gameplay.
This is especially important for multiplayer games. It can be difficult for a group of gamers to play together and maintain synchronization so that everyone has the same experience. It’s not fun to be battling for a castle with others and then suddenly your connection slows down and you get lost in the moat. If all players have access to 5G networks, play can be smoother and less stifling.
Gaming builds skills.
Gaming builds skills. An 2017 University of Glasgow research found that video games helped graduates in many areas. The eight-week study, which compared two groups undergrads (one played certain games and the other did not), found that the gaming group scored higher in communication, adaptability, and resourcefulness than the control group.
A 2020 Oxford University study suggests video games can improve a player’s mood. A research team asked test subjects to complete a questionnaire about their psychological well-being. They then compared the records of the time they spent playing selected games with the psychological questionnaire. It was found that people who played four hours per day reported a higher sense of well being than those who played less.
Many colleges and universities in the United States have established esports clubs and game design degrees. Verizon recently announced that it is committing $1 million to the Verizon Game Forward Scholarship for female students at historically black colleges and universities pursuing degrees in technology. Five women will be eligible for the 25 scholarships at five historically black colleges and universities, including Dillard University in Delaware, Howard University in Morgan State University, Morgan State University, Texas Southern University, Howard University, Howard University and Howard University.
Cloud gaming’s future
The rise of cloud gaming is coinciding with the rapid expansion of 5G across the globe, and that’s creating an opportunity for cloud game developers. Console games are offering the immersive experiences most gamers want. They have franchise titles with A-list actors, rich graphics, and layered storytelling. These games would have been difficult to replicate on the cloud in the past due to slow networks.
